United Nations Health Industry Foundation (UNHIF)
UNHIF
is an international organization and financial institution committed to promoting the development of global health industry and the improvement of global health governance based on the sustainable development goals of the United Nations, the concept of global health governance and the community of the future.
The purpose of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation is to “promote the development of health industry, foster global health governance, and improve the health and well-being of all mankind “. The major roles of UNHIF are to lead the development of the health industry, to boost the application of the health technology, and to foster the health and public welfare. UNHIF is committed to build a new global health order and a health community of the future. It also plays an active role in global health as well as in the health and well-being of human, contribute to building a community with the future, and is dedicated to build a healthy and beautiful world.
Organization
The organization of the UNHIF is composed of the Council, the Board of Directors, Advisory Committee, the Presidium, the Executive Committee, the Secretariat and a number of permanent functional departments, which makes the UNHIF form a strong management and operation system with reasonable division of functions and collaboration.
Council
Council
The Council is the highest authority of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation. It is composed of representatives from the top, middle and grass-roots levels of the foundation. The annual meeting of the Council is held at the headquarters in January every year. The main task is to review the chairman and President’s work report, development plan, investment plan, financial budget and other important issues.
Board of Directors
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the highest decision-making body of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation, which is composed of 25 board members, namely shareholders. Every year, a regular (year-end) meeting of all directors shall be held, with the participation of all shareholders, to discuss a series of major resolutions and matters for the deployment of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation (UNHIF). In case of special circumstances, an interim board meeting may be held to discuss countermeasures.
Advisory Committee
Advisory Committee
The Advisory Committee is the highest think tank of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation. Its main functions are to put forward constructive opinions and important suggestions for the overall work of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation and the work of the Board of Directors, the Presidium and the Executive Committee, and to provide consultation, decision-making staff and solutions on a regular basis.
Presidium
Presidium
The presidium is the highest executive body of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation. It exercises all the powers entrusted by the Board of Directors, implements the resolutions of the Board of Directors, and is responsible for the daily management. The Presidium is composed of a rotating Chairman, honorary Chairmen, one Executive Chairman and nine Executive Vice Chairmen. It has a term of office of five years and can be reappointed. The Executive Committee with the Presidium as the core consists of Regional Committee, Professional Committee and General Office.
Secretariat
Secretariat
The Secretariat is the permanent office of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation, and the Secretary General appointed by the Board of Directors is in charge of the daily work. There are several functional divisions in charge of daily secretarial work, including the Secretary General’s Office, Conference Services Division, Language and Translation Division, Reception Services Division and Secretarial Protocol Division. The Secretariat is an important day-to-day business organization of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation, serving all other organizations of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation.
Regional Committee
Regional Committee
The Regional Committee is the second level resident office of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation. It has five second level resident offices: Asia, Europe, America, Africa and Oceania. Each department has a number of third level resident offices, such as the representative office in China and the representative office in the United Kingdom, which are responsible for the daily work of each resident.
Professional Committee
Professional Committee
The Professional Committee is one of the secondary executive bodies of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation. It has 19 professional committees, including Fund Management Committee, Membership Dues Committee, Donation Committee, Financial Committee, Incubation Committee, Project Committee, Exhibition Committee, Expert Committee, Health Assistance Committee, Health Technology Committee, Health Investment Committee, Health Management Committee, Health Food Committee, Medical and Pharmaceutical Committee, Traditional Chinese Medicine Committee, Children’s Health Committee, Health Pension Committee, Health and Sports Committee, Health and Environment Committee, etc. Each committee is respectively responsible for its specific daily work.
General Office
General Office
The General Office is one of the secondary offices of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation, which is under the direct management of the Executive Committee. It is mainly responsible for all the office affairs of the United Nations Health Industry Foundation, including five functional bureaus, namely, the Administration Bureau, the Budget and Finance Bureau, the Supervision and Audit Bureau, the Press Office, and the Foreign Liaison Bureau.
